Riverside Recycling Education Program

Are you looking for exciting and creative ways to teach your students about recycling and waste education concepts?

The City of Riverside's Solid Waste Division in partnership with the RCRCD is providing a free and engaging classroom presentation and materials about recycling.

A Resource Educator from the RCRCD can visit your school to conduct a hands-on classroom program to demonstrate recycling concepts and help your students learn about waste reduction and sustainable practices.

The RECYCLING presentation demonstrates:

  • What is waste?
  • Where does it come from?
  • Where does it go?
  • Landfills and land use
  • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
  • How to recycle at home and at school
  • Ways to lessen human impacts on our environment

Recycling education programs, help students learn to reduce the amount of garbage that ends up in our landfills and the pollutants that enter our storm drain system that contaminates our environment. Waste reduction education programs help instill in students the need to clean up our environment by reducing what is thrown away. Educating students about the three Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle, helps to ensure that future generations will understand the importance and value of waste reduction and form lifelong habits of practicing responsible land use and care.

To schedule a hands-on presentation*, please contact Erin Synder, Resource Educator, Riverside-Corona Resource Conservation District: at her email synder@rcrcd.org

Thank you for your efforts to educate your students about natural resources, recycling and waste reduction.

*Presentations will be scheduled on a “first come, first served” basis.
