Jenny Iyer helps teach California Naturalist and Climate Stewards classes, and is the principal photographer for the book “Wildflowers and Important Native Plants of the Inland Empire” published by RCRCD. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from UC Riverside in 2000, and is an avid hiker, videographer and gardener.
She spent more than two decades as a journalist for newspapers in Inland Southern California covering topics from wildfires to super blooms; water issues including mitigation, drought and infrastructure; agriculture; nonprofit groups; and local government and its role in development, encouraging diversity, and protecting historic structures.
She is a certified California Naturalist and has been a longtime volunteer with the Riverside County Regional Park and Open-space District.
